The same 10,000 - 15,000 acres that produce the straw should produce 8,000 - 12,000 T of seed.

 

Bioneras has committed to providing the land, infrastructure and energy to process the straw and clean, dehull, press and package the seed for food and a host of additional products.

A number of growers are already producing hemp seed. However, there is limited processing facilities available in the region; much of it is sent to Manitoba for cleaning and de-hulling. In the past couple of years, local producers have been unable to access processors and have been forced to store their seed for extensive periods. We expect to supply seed cleaning and processing services for at least twice the growers we are contracting straw from.
